Squalicum Beach

A break in the rain means time to GET OUTSIDE! This trip took us to the Squalicum Beach Trail. After what seems like FOREVER getting ready, we finally make it out the door.

Grace is teething again so the "chewy" gets to make the trip with us.

Snowberries, dad! I just love that she is learning to recognize plants and bird calls.

Always copying big sister.

Let's go!

Haircuts and Sunshine

It was well past time for a haircut for both girls. We got a recommendation for Kimberly at Studio Galactica and gave it a shot. We think the cuts are pretty terrific! The girls seemed to agree.

Some sunshine at the homestead. We really love the new house.

Sister Silliness!

We feel so lucky that Luna & Grace enjoy spending so much time together.  The two girls can be super silly and goofy and enjoy cracking each other up.  Luna loves to have Gracie lay on top of her and give her lots of hugs.

Valentine's Day Mail

Gracie & Luna love getting mail (Luna enjoys checking the mail box every day!).  They were super excited this week to get cards in the mail from Grandpa Pahl & Grandma Teri.  Not only did they get mail, but a little something extra was tucked inside!  Gracie was especially excited (see photo below).

Can we go get ice cream at Mallards??

Sunday Dinner

Brian cashed in on his Christmas present from me last week with a cooking class at Ciao Thyme.  I reaped the benefits of the gift this weekend with a special dinner he prepared for the family. The menu included:
Polenta
Roasted Butternut Squash
Kale sauteed with garlic
Porchetta

New hat and gloves from Sylvia & Evan in Wales
Table set for family dinner

Brian actually prepped dinner early!

Fresh kale

Pre-dinner goodie plate

The Porchetta in the oven!

About to enjoy the feast!

Eagle Park (again!)

Winter gets long around here for us non-skiing types.  Sunday we needed to get out of the house and head out to Deming's Homestead Eagle Park for some trail walking and eagle spotting.  We did see a few eagles, but the pictures didn't turn out (for reals).  While we didn't see any beavers, we did see LOTS of evidence of them in the flood plain.

Beaver evidence!
