We started Saturday by heading down to the
Farmer's Market to pick up some produce and peruse other vendors for some gift giving ideas. Gracie isn't much of a hat wearer but we found the most adorable hat (see pics below) for her at the
Moth & Squirrel booth and could not resist purchasing an early Christmas present. After playing on the goat cart (a requirement for any trip remotely near the downtown Depot), we headed to the Fairhaven Ferry Terminal for the Holiday Port Festival. This has become a New Tradition since Luna's preschool class has entered the Gingerbread House competition two years in a row now. Luna's class created a Gingerbread train this year and we wanted to check out the final product.
After a brief afternoon nap, we headed down to La Conner for our long standing tradition of watching the lighted Boat Parade with Uncle Ken and Auntie Steph. This year's parade was fantastic - all the boats were well decorated and several had music or live carolers aboard. Luna loved shouting out to each boat (multiple times) MERRY CHRISTMAS! and turning the flash light Auntie Steph brought for her on and off to get each boat's attention. Even without snow this year, we had a great time as always.
