Luna has been into all things related to princess, ballet and fairies lately so I decided this was the year to introduce her to the Nutcracker ballet. We turned it into a girls adventure and Oma, Luna and I headed down to Pacific Northwest Ballet's fantastic holiday show. I prepped Luna ahead of time by reading the Nutcracker story for about 2 weeks straight. She was so excited when we arrived at McCaw Hall and found a huge statue of Herr Drosselmeier! At intermission we went to a special cupcake reception Luna got to decorate her own cupcake with a ballerina on top. The second half diverged from the story Luna had become familiar with and she had so many questions I ended up having to leave the audience for fear of disrupting others around us. We only missed the last 10 minutes of the show, so all in all, it was a huge success!
